Lawrence was the son of Joseph Fletcher Lambert (1889-1959) and Mamie Pearl (Jackson) Lambert (1890-1959). He grew up in Woodstock with many siblings.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1939-1945 and held the rank of Sergeant. He married Frances Lucille (Hollar) Lambert (1923-1998), either while he was still in the military or just after his discharge.
Lawrence and his wife had at least one son, Gary C. Lambert (1946-2015). When he died, Lawrence’s occupation was as a retired cutter in a textile company. His last residence was in Woodstock.
