Frye, Edward Newton (1887-1967)
Bushong, Emery Franklin (1889-1949)
Description
Photograph of (l to r): Edward Newton Frye and Emery Franklin Bushong standing in the studio in their work clothes.
Ed Frye married Cleva Alice Wisman (1884-1928) and Emery Bushong married her sister, Sarah Elizabeth Wisman (1889-1972).
Ed and Emery were hauling bark to Woodstock to put on the train bound for the leather tannery in Luray. It was a bitterly cold day and they stopped at Morrison's studio to warm up. While they were there, Hugh Morrison asked to take their picture. They said no because they did not feel they were suitably dressed. But Hugh Morrison won out with this result.
