Portrait photograph of Clara (Haun) Pence as a young woman.

Clara was the daughter of Milton L. and Nina F. Haun.

She was a 1951 graduate of Edinburg High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Marvin Clinton Pence, Jr. (1933-2014) later that year.

Marvin was the son of Marvin Clinton and Mary Ellen (Coffelt) Pence.

Over the course of their long marriage, the couple had three sons together: Earl Clinton, Ricky Lee, and David Alan.

Clara is remembered by her family and friends as having been a consummate mother and homemaker, excellent cook, and avid sports fan. She enjoyed watching the Washington Nationals and Washington Capitals games.

In their later years, she and her husband moved to Nokesville, Virginia, (in 1988).
