Photograph of Stanley Tobias Clem (on the left) with his arm around Perry T. Heishman.

Both are wearing Civil Air Patrol Uniforms. They were part a group of Shenandoah County residents who joined the Civil Air Patrol at a meeting at Edinburg High School in 1944. The group trained in Harrisonburg Virginia. Perry "Bud" Heishman was a Second Lieutenant who became Commander of the group on December 11, 1944 and Stanley Clem was listed as a Sergeant.

Both men pictured attended Edinburg High School. Clem was in the US Army Air Force at the end of the Second World War and lived in Fort Valley.

Stanley Tobias Clem was identified in 2011 by Celeste Allen, Mr. Clem's niece. She remembered he served in occupied Germany.
Also identified by a school mate, Richard L. Tisinger. They went to Edinburg High School together.
Information about Perry Heishman and Stanley Clem's service in the Civil Air Patrol supplied by Phil Fravel via a Northern Virginia Daily Article dated December 11, 1944.

Stanley T. Clem per all the WW II newspaper clippings was from the Fort Valley, Not Edinburg.
