Description

Portrait of Michael "Mickey" Chellini, III, as a young child.

Michael “Mickey” Angel Chellini, III, grew up in Woodstock. His parents were Miguel "Mike" Angel Chellini, Jr. (1924-1992) and Charlotte Marie (Funk) Chellini (1926-2017).

As a child, he played tennis in the local league and attended Central High School initially. Then, in September, 1963, he was one of only twelve day students (in a class of 350 cadets) entering Massanutten Academy for its 65th year. The 1966 MMA yearbook includes his photograph with these accolades: “Corporal … Asst. Squad Leader … Junior Varsity Football … Thousand Merit Club … Gearing Rifles … Ambition: Engineer … 3 years at MMA … Poe.”

In 1972, Mickey married Patricia Ann Barb (1952 - ). She was born in Orkney Springs to Philip William Barb, Sr., and Ruby Florence (Biller) Barb. The couple had at least one son and raised their family in the Woodstock area.
