Portrait photograph of Ruby Arlene (Lichliter) Jett as a young woman.

Ruby was the daughter of the late Roy Adison and Helen Virginia (O’Neal) Lichliter. She was a 1941 graduate of Edinburg High School.

A year later, she married Carson Marion Lichliter and lived in Fort Valley for several years. Her husband worked at a saw mill and she worked at the Celanese Plant. The couple had three children: Cary Dean, Lana, and Zane Alan Lichliter.

She and Carson divorced in 1953 and a year later, her name became Shipe. This second union did not last and in 1967, she married Clayton Jett.

She retired from Avtex Fibers in November of 1989, was the recording secretary for the Avtex Retirees Club, and a member of the Jolly 60’s AARP, the Warren County Senior Center and the Riverton United Methodist Church, where she was in charge of Parliaments.

The name, "Ruby Lichliter", is written on the glass plate negative of this image.
