Imogene was the daughter of George Henry and Effie Catherine (Orndorff) Bott, a farming family from the Davis District.

She married Carl Franklin Stokes, Jr. in 1942. He was a mechanic living in Strasburg.

Identified in 2006 by Gloria Stickley and Gertrude Hoffman, who remembered Imogene was Wanda Wakeman's aunt. Eva Mae Pifer and Sarah Bagnell also knew her.
