Peggy was born in Accokeek, Maryland, a daughter of Addie (Middletown) Jenkins Wymer and the late John W. Jenkins, Sr.
Peggy lived much of her life in Strasburg where she worked as a cashier at the Hi Neighbor Restaurant and Bobby's Family Restaurant.
She married Cecil Gleaton and together, they had at least four children: Gary Stephen Gleaton, John David Gleaton, Ricky Ray Bowley, and Amanda Sue (Gleaton) Hoffman.
