Portrait of Quay Funkhouser and Audrey Miller Funkhouser when they were young.
Quay was the son of James William (1884-1936) and Daisy Ozella (Sine) (1885-1949) Funkhouser. He was from rural Edinburg (born in Columbia Furnace) and was a farmer when he married Audrey Luella Miller on Christmas day, 1949.
When she married, Audrey worked at the Woodstock Manufacturing Company. Her parents were Lacey James and Bessie May (Racey) Miller.
A year later, the 1950 census found them living with her parents in the Madison District of Shenandoah County. He worked on a dairy farm and Audrey was a machine operator in a garment factory.
