Description

Portrait of Charlotte Jordan as the May Queen of Triplett High School in Mt. Jackson. She is seated on a bench wearing a long white gown with a crown and holding a bouquet of flowers.

Charlotte was born in Mt. Jackson to Ira Vernon Jordan, Sr. and Dottie Lorraine (Litten) Jordan. She worked as a bookkeeper until she married Jewitt Marion Hulvey (1927-1997) in 1968. At that time, he was a partner in Hulvey, Inc. a fuel oil and gas company in Broadway. His parents were William Marion and Mary Marinda (Miller) Hulvey.

The couple lived in Broadway, Rockingham County, for much of their years together.
