Betty was the daughter of Wade and Emma (Crabill) Wright. She lived in Woodstock her whole life.
Betty married Irvin "Buck" Shrum (1915-1995) and together they had three sons; William, Donald and Richard.
Betty worked for many years at Shenandoah County Memorial Hospital as well as The New York Restaurant. She was a life long member of the United Methodist Church in Woodstock, Virginia.
Both she and her husband are buried in Sunset View Memorial Garden in Woodstock.
