Anne was born January 19, 1926 to parents Kathleen (Kohr) Capingler and Rev. E.B. Caplinger. She lived in various valley towns growing up as her father was a minister with the United Brethren Church and worked with many different congregations. She graduated from Frostburg State Teacher's College and became a teacher in Bethesda Maryland in 1948.
In 1950 she married Don Ashworth Comer. They had two children, Stephen Comer and Rebecca (Comer) Lewis. Virginia died on January 29, 2015.
