Photograph of Miss Charlotte (Jordan) Hulvey who was selected to be the "May Queen" at Triplett High School in Mt. Jackson.
Charlotte was born in Mt. Jackson to Ira Vernon Jordan, Sr. and Dottie Lorraine (Litten) Jordan. She worked as a bookkeeper until she married Jewitt Marion Hulvey (1927-1997) in 1968.
At that time, he was a partner in Hulvey, Inc. a fuel oil and gas company in Broadway. His parents were William Marion and Mary Marinda (Miller) Hulvey.
The couple lived in Broadway, Rockingham County, for most of their years together.
