This photograph was used as her senior class picture in the 1925 Strasburg High School Yearbook. The yearbook staff wrote this about her:

"Katharine's gift to our class is her kind and sympathetic attitude toward us. Katharine is and excellent student, taking interest in every phase of school life. Then, too, we count her as one of the most popular girls with the opposite sex. Excluding these she is never too busy to play a joke on her teachers and classmates. We feel sure that "Kat" will capture the hearts of her fellow classmates at Farmville as she has at S.H.S."
