Born in Mt. Olive, Ray was a 1941 graduate of MMA and a U.S. Army veteran, having served as a Lieutenant during World War II.
After his time in the service he worked for the Strasburg Post Office and retired as Superintendent of Postal Operations.
He is buried with his first wife, Daisy Elizabeth (Smith) Kern (1920-1983) in Strasburg.
His second wife was Maxine McDonald.
