This was her Triplett High School graduation picture.
Julia was born in Mt. Clifton, Virginia, the oldest child of Burtelle Whitmore Fansler, Sr. and Julia Virginia (Tisinger) Fansler.
She was a 1929 graduate of Triplett High School and attended State Normal School (now JMU) at Harrisonburg, Va.
She began her teaching career at Hudson Cross Roads School and later teaching 5th grade at Triplett. She briefly taught at Patrick Henry Middle School in Arlington, Virginia, before returning to Triplett in the 1940s when a librarian position became available.
Julia retired in 1974 as librarian at Stonewall Jackson High School at Mount Jackson.
She never married.
