Milton was born in Florida, the son of Berna Walton (1871-1955) and Alberta Gertrude (Walker) (1894-1965) Coffman. He had a twin sister, Martha Alice (Coffman) Wightman.
His wife was Alma Deloris (Smith) (1920-2010) Coffman. The couple lived in Woodstock for many years.
