John R. Hollingsworth, Jr., standing on a bench beside a stuffed dog.

His parents were John R. (1906-1984) and his second wife, Bessie Caroline (Seal) (1909-1970) Hollingsworth, Sr.

In 1950, he was the oldest of four children living on his parent’s farm near Woodstock.

He was a policeman in Woodstock when he married Ailon Katherine Lineweaver (1938-2021) in 1961. She was the daughter of Frank Gilbert and Katherine Lee (Clowser) Lineweaver and lived in Star Tannery. She worked as a clerk typist.

The couple raised at least two sons together: John Roland Hollingsworth, III (born 1963), and Kevin Lee Hollingworth (born 1964).

John R. Hollingsworth, Jr. and his wife are buried together in Woodstock.
