Ada (Wolfson) Samuels, posed with her brother, Sammy Wolfson. Both are wearing graduation caps and gowns.
The two siblings were born to George Joseph and Ida L. (Kaplan) Wolfson who had immigrated from Lithuania and married in New York City in 1916.
Sammy's father, Joe Wolfson, ran a clothing store located at 183 E. King Street in Strasburg for many years. In the rear, he operated a steam iron and dry cleaning shop while his family lived in the apartment upstairs.
Sammy and Ada had an older brother, Morton I. who was born in Maryland.
The siblings grew up in one of the few Jewish households in Shenandoah County.
