He was the youngest of fifteen children born to Samuel Myers and Effie E. (Grandstaff) Stoneburner.

He married Mildred Bowman (Funkhouser) Stoneburner (1919-2007) and had four children.

The words, "Stoneburner, Edinburg", are written on the glass plate.
