She was born at the Hottel-Keller home place near Mt. Olive, Va., the daughter of Carl Irving Conner, Sr. and Elsie V. (Barbe) Conner.
Lucille graduated from Toms Brook High School in 1941.
She married Carl Gilbert Baker in 1945. Together, the couple raised two children: Stacey Lane Baker and Kendra Gaye (Baker) Byrd.
Later in their lives, both Lucille and her husband moved to Augusta County, south of Staunton. Lucille was actively involved in her church and family. She gave back generously to her community.
