Madge was born in Staunton, Virginia, to Roy and Carrie Trimble.
She graduated from Woodstock High School in 1946. After attending Palmers Business School, she worked as a legal secretary in Winchester.
Her husband was Kermit Lee Racey who she married on Christmas Day, 1947. The couple raised four children together.
Madge was always active in her Woodstock community. Later in her life, she became a member of the board of Skyline Terrace Nursing Home.
It serves as her memorial because she designed and decorated the "Memory Lane Assisted Living" addition to Skyline Terrace completed in 2013.
