Photograph of a siblings Gloria and Larry R. Burks, posed together, when they were children.

They were the only two children of Albert W. (1909-1945) and Estie Irene (Lentz) Burks (1918-2003) and grew up in Toms Brook. Their father died not long after this photograph was made.

Both children appear in the 1940 and 1950 census for Toms Brook with their mother. They lived on the east side of Route 11.

Gloria Dawn Burks eventually married Donald E. Mumaw and raised a family in Falls Church, Virginia.

Larry settled in Midlothian, Virginia. He married Millie S. Burks and raised four children with her. When he died, his obituary in the Richmond Times Dispatch (9 Aug. 2005) noted he had worked for 32 years as a diesel mechanic for Great Coastal Trucking.
