Description

Portrait photograph of Duke Monroe Hottle wearing a U.S. Navy uniform.

Duke was originally from Toms Brook, the son of Walter and Bertha (Stump) Hottle.

When he registered for the WWII draft, Duke was still there and working for Bauserman Transfer Company in Strasburg.

After his military service, Duke settled in North Carolina where he married Rebecca Jacobs in 1945 and later, Mary Louise Daubenmeyer in 1956.

By 1965, he was divorced and moved to Jefferson, Florida, where he married Elmira "Dolly" Graham Fania. They remained together until she died in 1992 in Tallahassee.

Sometime after that, Duke married a woman named Shirley who survived him. His Florida obituary mentioned her and noted he was a Supervisor with the Florida Department of Transportation when he died.

The name, "Duke Hottle", is written on the glass plate.
