Gary was the son of James Edward and Gene Stratton (Richardson) LIttle of the Oranda community near Strasburg. His parents were married in 1946. He was the couple's first child.
Gary enlisted the United States Marines Corp in 1967 and was discharged in 1970. He was in Vietnam from March 1967 to April 1968, and was awarded a Purple Heart in October 1967.
Later, he retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation as a supervisor and surveyor.
Gary married Sharon Lee Keller in 1971. The marriage did not last. His second wife was Patricia Dianne Rennie who he married in 1978.
Gary is buried in Lebanon Church.
The names, "Mrs James Little" and "Ms. Richardson" as well as the place, "Strasburg", are written on the glass plate negative of this image.
