Dorothy was born in Monessen, PA, the daughter of Ernest and Sadie (Keller )Rutz. She was a graduate of Monessen High School, and later moved to Shenandoah County where she became a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist church in Toms Brook.
She was the wife of Melvin Lester Kibler (1920-2001). He served in the Navy during World War II.
Together, the couple raised three children: Kathy (Kibler) Williams Melvin (Buster) Kibler Jr.,and Ernest Lee Kibler.
Dorothy lived in Woodstock when she died and is buried with her husband in Harrisville, Shenandoah County, Virginia.
