Description

Siblings William D. Golladay and sister, Regina Jane (Golladay) Fitzwater, are posed together. They are wearing matching sweaters and a couple of toys are beside them.

Their parents were Ernest Earl and Anna Kline (Roller) Golladay. They grew up in Woodstock.

Jane was a teacher in Woodstock when she married her first husband, Marion Swisher Swartz, in 1947. The couple raised four daughters together before he died.

After he died, she married again to Coolidge Monroe Marshall Fitzwater (1923-2011).

William D. Golladay served as a Private First Class in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was with the 46th Infantry Battalion and 5th Armored Division when he died from wounds received in combat near the Rhine River in Germany. He is buried in the American Cemetery in the Netherlands.

PFC Golladay is a Purple Heart recipient.
