Carroll E. Estep was the son of Thomas Estep and Laura Algier. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in both the African and European Theatres of World War II. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star, and was a past member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post #77. He was a former employee of Avtex, Inc. of Front Royal.
He married Janet Marie Kronk in August 1945, just after the war. She was born in Toms Brook,the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Ethel May (Hahn) Kronk. She was a graduate of Toms Brook High School and had been a member of the school's basketball team.
The couple were married for over 64 years when Carroll died. Together the couple had two sons, Randy and Phil. The family lived in Strasburg for many years. Carroll and Janet (Kronk) Estep were buried in Waterlick, at the Panorama Gardens Cemetery, in Warren County.
The name, "Estep", is written on the glass plate of this image.

Identified in 2004 by Janet Kronk, a relative of the subjects. She noted a middle name of "Louise", however, "Marie" is what appears in public records.
