Description

Photograph of William "Bill" Eugene Dellinger as a boy in short pants.

Born in Frederick County, Virginia, he was the son of Joseph William and Virginia (Rosenberger) Dellinger. In the 1940 census, not long after this photograph was made, he and his parents lived on High Street in Mt. Jackson.

Ten years later, he was 19 years old, still single, lived in Washington D.C. and worked as a clerk for the FBI.

His wife was Peggy Ann (Weddle) Dellinger (1933-2010), originally from Thurmont, Maryland. Their first son was born in 1955.

The first years of their marriage were spent in Pennsylvania where the older of their five children were born.

Later on, and after his wife died, William E. lived in Sterling, Virginia.
