Description

Ronnie Lee Leavel as a boy standing on a bench.

He was born in Woodstock, the son of Harold W. and Helen (Miller) Leavel.

Ronnie moved to Charlottesville with his family as a boy and graduated from Lane High School in 1954. He worked for the FBI in Washington D.C. before joining the U.S. Army in 1957.

His wife was Eula (Dickinson) Leavel. They raised a daughter, Sherri Leigh (Leavel) Culver.

After his military service, he returned to Charlottesville, and got a job at the telephone company. He started out collecting coins from pay phones but was transferred in 1975 to Tallahassee, Florida, as a District Manager.

After he retired, Ronnie remained in Florida for the rest of his life.
