Description

Portrait photograph of Russell George "Bud" Clinedinst in his U.S. Army uniform.

He was the son of Russell George and Retta Wise (Fultz) Clinedinst, a farming couple in the Edinburg area.

When he registered for the WWII draft in 1940, Russell lived in Edinburg and worked for C.M. Shannon in Mt. Jackson. His mother was listed as his emergency contact and he was described as being 5'8" tall and weighing 163 pounds.

He enlisted in the Army in March 1944 and trained in Fort Meade, Maryland. He was a Private when he was sent overseas.

He was killed in action at the Battle of the Bulge on January 14, 1945.

He is buried in the Luxembourg American Cemetery in Hamm, Luxembourg.
