Description

Photo of the original wedding photograph of Pete Blentson and Rena (Pappas) Blentson. The couple was married in 1931.

Both were Greek natives who immigrated to the United States in the first half of the 20th century.

Pete was a partner in, and later co-owner of the New York Restaurant in Woodstock, Virginia, from 1922 until his death in 1956.

Pete was the son of Angelo Blentson and immigrated in 1907.

The 1930 census found him living on Main Street in Woodstock with four other Greek men who were all working as waiters in a restaurant. One of the men was named George Pappas, who was probably related to Pete's wife, Rena.

The 1950 census found Pete and Rena still on Main Street and raising two children, Angelo (19 years old) and Helen (18 years old).
