She was a daughter of James Keller Ambrose and Lottie Virginia (Emerson) Ambrose.
She married for the first time in 1945. Her husband was Gilbert Kieffer Coffman.
In the 1950 census, she lived on Fairground Road in Woodstock with him. She worked as a secretary in an accounting office while Gilbert was listed as a clerk in a post office. A year later, the couple divorced.
She moved to Fairfax County and married again. Her second husband was Robert Franklin Heishman.
When she died, the couple lived in Fort Belvoir, Fairfax County, Virginia.
