Portrait photograph of Dr. Ralph W. Stoneburner of Edinburg.

He was the son of Lewis Tilghman and Mary Moore (Wierman) Stoneburner and is best remembered for his many years of service as Edinburg's medical doctor.

The book, "The History of Edinburg, Va" by Mary Ann Williamson and Jean Allen Davis says this about him on pages 484 and 485:

"Dr. Ralph Stoneburner was a native of Edinburg and practiced medicine for fifty-nine years. He was a graduate of Randolph Macon College and the Medical College of Virginia, and he practised in Toms Brook for seven years, at Coal Valley Hospital in Montgomery, W. Va., for three years and forty-nine years in Edinburg".

He married Mary Gardner (Keister) Stoneburner and the couple had three children: Ralph, Thurston, and Anne.
