Wanda was born in Wilkes County, NC, a daughter of Sheridan and Lizzie (Funkhouser) Miller.
She married her childhood sweetheart, James Bernard "JB" Walsh in 1947.
She had many jobs through the years, from her first as a Wilkes County school teacher to her retirement as manager of the Woodstock Clothes Closet.
She and her husband raised three children: James B. "Bernie" Walsh, Darlena (Walsh) Burch, and Kelley (Walsh) Hughes.
