Photograph of the form titled, "Notice of the Separation From U.S. Naval Service" signed by Carpenter's Mate Second Class Ray Vann, in 1945.

He served in Davisville, Rhode Island, and Shoemaker, California, and with the 57th Construction Battalion.

Ray was born in Shenandoah, Virginia, on September 5, 1899.

He served from 23 November 1942 to 18 June 1945.

At the time of his discharge, he held a proficiency rating of 3.54 and a conduct rating of 4.0.

He received a Good discharge Lapel button at the time of his discharge.

He was given a travel allowance from Camp Parks, California, to Edinburg, Virginia.
