A label on the side of the machine says, "The Austin Western Line Serves You Right".
Austin-Western was a well-known manufacturer of heavy road building equipment throughout the first half of the 20th century.

These were more commonly called "Steam Rollers" This one is located just north of Narrow Passage along the old Valley Turnpike.
