Description

Damaged photo of a postcard titled, "There is a Time for All Things". The illustration captures the moment when Rev. J.P.G. Muhlenberg famously issued his call to arms sermon in January, 1776.

After his speech, he threw off his minister's robe, left his pulpit in the Lutheran Church in Woodstock and called for recruits to join him to form a regiment to help stop the British.

The caption at the bottom of the postcard includes key points from his speech.
