Barbara was the daughter of Harold Leslie and Nannie Rebecca (Seal) Bowman. She was a 1979 graduate of Central High School.
When she died, she was the client services director at the Shenandoah County Pregnancy Center in Edinburg. Before that, she was employed as a nurse's aide at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital and worked at Walton and Smoot Drug Store and Cracker Barrel.
Her husband was Darryl L. Huffman. The couple had two daughters, Emily Kathryn Huffman and Lindsey Renea Huffman.
She is buried in Woodstock, Virginia.
