Description

Photograph of the building that housed Irvin Inc., a wholesale distribution facility also known as the Irvin Candy Company.

Irvin Incorporated was established by George E. Irvin, and his business partner, J.I. Triplett, in 1884, as a farm equipment retailer. It transitioned to a wholesale distributor of, eventually, stationery and office supplies, drugs and druggist sundries, confectionary, and tobacco products.

It was located just north of Edinburg on Route 11. The business shut down in December 2009.

The building still stands.

Route 11 is in the foreground of the photograph.
