Jeremiah was a shoemaker who enlisted as a Private in the Confederate Army in April 1861. His parents were Jeremiah S. Evans and Mary (Biedleman) Evans.
Sarah Jane's first husband was named Copp. She and Jeremiah Evans married in December 1865 and had several children.
Both buried in the Levi Gochenour Cemetery in Woodstock.
