She was the youngest daughter of Landon and Frances (Shank) Gochenour on S. Summit Ave. in Woodstock, Virginia.

Her father owned and operated Woodstock Wholesale Meats and F&G Supermarket.

She graduated from Central High School in 1969.

The image on the right has a mark at the top where the photographer noted which of the two images he planned to print.
