Her first husband was Gerald Allen Stultz. She married him him in Hagerstown, Maryland, in 1961. She worked as a legal secretary at the time. The marriage ended a few years later.
Her second husband was Dwight M. Hoover (1934-2016). She and Dwight raised two children together.
