Eugene was the son of Ernest and Elizabeth (Hanie) Gardner and was born in Alabama.
Rebecca was the daughter of William Luther and Lula Ellen (Doll) Golladay of Woodstock.
The couple married in 1951 in Emanuel Lutheran Church (shown here) in Woodstock, Virginia.
At the time, he was in the Air Force and stationed at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington D.C. It was his second marriage.
Rebecca worked as a secretary.
The marriage did not last and the couple divorced in 1971.
