Portrait photograph of Charlotte V. (Ortts) Johnson as a young woman.

She was the daughter of Charles William and Minnie (Clary) Ortts. Her brother was William "Bill" Ortts.

She graduated from Woodstock High School in 1952.

Charlotte was a teacher at the Henry Clay High School in Ashland, Virginia, when she married Morris Gordon Johnson in 1957. He was a bank teller at Tri-County Bank at the time of their marriage.

The couple's wedding was held in Woodstock.
