Edith was born in Bedford, Virginia, to William Turner (1871-1933) and Annie Rebecca (Grim) (1868-1905) Spiggle. She grew up in the Madison District of Shenandoah County where her father was a farm laborer.
She married Frederick Lee Reynard (1885-1953) in 1914, the son of George A. and Martha J. Reynard. He was a laborer when he married. In 1920, he worked as a miller in a flour mill.
Together, they lived for many years in rural Edinburg. The couple had a daughter, Mary Frances (Reynard) Boyce (1928-1996).
Edna and her husband are buried together in Union Forge cemetery.
