Photograph of Katherine Virginia (Clark) Fravel holding her son, Alva Marvin Fravel, on her lap.

Katherine was the daughter of Richard Jackson (1867-1955) and Nannie Carlisle (Dirting) (1874-1959) Clark.

She married Jacob Marvin Fravel (1895-1954) in 1918. He operated Woodstock Motors for many years.

The couple had two sons. Their younger son, Gerald Clark Fravel, was born after this photograph was taken.

Alva Marvin Fravel married Vera in 1946, not long after the war. They met in Washington D.C. Alva worked for the C & P Telephone Company for 45 years.

The couple lived in Arlington, Virginia, where they raised their family. Both are buried in Arlington Cemetery.
