Pauline was the daughter of John Henry and Mary (Shaffer) Bowers.
She had two husbands. The first was Noah Arthur Polk (1874-1946) whom she married in 1929.
After he died, she married Robert Washington Hottle (1878-1956) in 1946.
Pauline lived in Mt. Jackson for many years and worked as a janitor at Triplett High School.
She is buried in Maurertown, Virginia.
