Barbara was a graduate of Woodstock High School, Class of 1954 and attended Madison College (JMU) before starting work as a secretary to the General Manager of what is now Shentel in Edinburg, Va. She married Dr. James Isaac Lambert on July 12, 1959, in Woodstock.
