Portrait of Charlotte Painter Poland as a young woman. Charlotte was born on March 1, 1922, at Edinburg, Virginia, the daughter of the late Clayton Painter and Irene Coffman Painter.
She was a lifetime member of Bethel Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, headed the Christmas program for many years, and served as president of the LCW. Charlotte was always present at her church for as long as she was able to attend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Poland.
Charlotte is survived by a son, Ricky Lynn Poland of Mount Jackson; a daughter, Sherry Strosnider of Winchester; and three grandchildren.
